Disc UFO photographed over Hawaiian mountain

A Hawaiian witness at Waikane reported photographing a hovering, disc-shaped UFO near Kaneoha Bay, according to testimony in Case 79999 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was taking photos near lunch time on October 23, 2016, using the “multiple photos” camera setting. The witness did not see the object while taking photos and only noticed it when reviewing images later.

“I noticed one of them was not like the others,” the witness stated.“At first I thought a wood chip was on my lens, but I looked closer and I realized I had spotted a UFO. Now, I don’t really believe in stereotypical UFOs, but this creeped me out so much that I’m reporting it just in case it really is one. The unidentified object I saw was a disk, football shape and it was yellow/orange. When I zoom up on my camera, there seems to be a dome on the top as well.”

Hawaii MUFON State Director David McManus is investigating. Please be cautious of UFO photography and video, especially when the witness did not see the actual object. There are many camera-lens anomalies that must be ruled out during the investigation before a determination is made.

Please remember that most UFO sightings can be explained as something natural or man-made. The above quotes were edited for clarity. Please report UFO activity to MUFON.com.

  1. The witness went from thinking a wood chip was on the camera right to a UFO. Big leap. I do not know what it was and so by definition it was definitely an Unidentified Flying Object although Flying could be argued. But I also know it was NOT a flying saucer from outer space. Because there are no Flying Saucers from Outer Space in Hawaii or anywhere on Planet Earth. Why? Because the distances are much too far to make the trip. The amount of energy it would take to make the trip and then fly around in our atmosphere cannot exist on such a small craft. I know, I know…who is to say what kind of technology these so called visitors would have at their disposal. But isn’t it wise to assume that if any alien society decided to make the investment to make such a fantastic trip that they would do more than dart in and out of clouds, making no contact with humans? One would think there would be a mission like establishing contact but instead we are led to believe the aliens are hanging out, teasing only a few who allegedly see them for a few seconds and who do not have a decent camera, even though most of us carry a high quality digital camera in our pocket 24/7.

I am an backyard astronomer. I spend A LOT of time looking at the stars at night, almost every night. With and without my telescope. I see weird things all of the time. I have seen things I still cannot explain but it just shows there is many many things that go on in our skies that are natural that we just don’t understand. I have viewed planets that look exactly like photos people put online as proof of flying saucers. Venus is a prime target for that. And I mean exactly.

There are no flying saucers. God did not want galaxies to intermingle. Space is a very dangerous place to travel through, filled with radiation and black holes, and cosmic rays and who knows what else. I wish I was wrong. As a kid I was sure I saw a flying saucer fly through the air directly over my head one summer night just after dusk. I was certain but there was nothing in the papers nor on the news. It did not matter to me because I saw it with my own eyes. I read everything I could get my hands on about UFO’s for the next 30 years. I was a firm believer and no one could change my mind. Until one day in 1999 when as a U.S. Naval officer I was given access to a video of a satellite losing its orbit and re-entering earth’s atmosphere. It not only convinced me that that is what I saw so many years ago, it was so convincing it could have been the actual event I saw…it was that precise. At that moment I realized there is an explanation for everything we see that we don’t understand right away. It is easy to jump to the fantastic but my rule of thumb is there is an inverse relationship between how fantastic something seems and the eventual prosaic explanation. The more fantastic it seems, the more prosaic it is.
