UFOs spotted again over Mexican castle ruins (Video)
Locals to the castle ruins in Tulum, Mexico, might be wondering if their area is a UFO hotspot after a tourist videotaped an unknown object crossing the sky in May – 22 months after a Google street view camera caught a cigar-shaped UFO moving in the same area.
The cigar UFO was caught on video by a tourist in May 2015, according to YouTube user UFOvni2012 in a June 10, 2015 upload.
According to the video (seen above), a tourist stated that his wife was lying on the beach near the castle ruins in Tulum and reported “weird mysterious flashes” twice in the daytime sky.
The woman’s husband then began videotaping the sky in the hopes of capturing the flashes, but instead caught what appears to be an object moving through the clouds.
The same spot was a point of curiosity in July 2013 when a Google street view camera caught what appears to be a cigar-shaped object moving over the same area.
In the July 2013 video, the object makes a 90-degree turn, hovers momentarily, and then disappears.
Tulum is the site of a Pre-Columbian Maya walled city. The ruins are situated on 39-foot-tall cliffs, along the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula on the Caribbean Sea in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico.
Hey guys – love the site and Alejandro’s show – but I have to make a comment about this Tulum Google street view thing. I just went to see it on Google. It’s all there – but I hate to tell you guys – this is a bug crawling around on the Google globe camera housing. I’m a cinematographer by trade, so I have seen a lot of bugs on lenses! This is definitely a bug! It’s out of focus because it’s so close to the lens, so it appears like a blob, but if you look at some of the angles where the sun is backlighting it well, you can make out the legs of the bug. And what is the date of the tourist video with the flash going through the frame? Because the watermark on the google street view says 2012 and wasn’t that video made in 2013? Plus the angles and direction don’t match. It appears you are trying to say that this video was shot at the same time as the google images were captured, but not likely based on dates and motion. hmmm…not enough vetting of this stuff going on- I know you guys are better than this – step up your vetting process a bit more guys – you don’t want to fall into the flakey category do you? Being an “open minded skeptic” as you purport to be, you are going to have to look at things a little more carefully – and maybe you should be enlisting the help of photographic professionals to help you judge this stuff before jumping to crazy conclusions? Just a thought. Love the site though!
I’ll be the first to thank JT FOR his professional opinion on the matter of the Google Maps report..
Thank you JT!
Until now, this has been a pretty difficult case to debunk, as the staunchest critics have left it alone.
I don’t now how these newbies have made it this far without the guidance of a true skeptic..
Roger – You’ve obviously let your excitement get the best of you.
Go calm don’t, and quit filling our heads with such easily dismissible nonsense.
On a serious note.. I was surprised to see anything from UFOovniDisclosure..
Well said JT, I’d just like to add that the video is absolutely amazing.
Thanks for the supportive comments all! Was listening to Alejandro’s podcast last night and during the “UFO News” segment they mentioned the Tulum video but not the Google Street View thing (curiously). Alejandro mentioned a “bug on the lens” as a possible explanation for a totally different story but not the Google Street View thing – did he get confused? And yet the Google Street View video remains posted here. So what’s the deal? Are you guys playing on the ambiguity or just slow to respond or to taking this down? And if you’re going to leave it up at least acknowledge that there are legitimate skeptical and professional photographic concerns about the images being a bug on the lens? – Roger? Alejandro? Come on guys. Alejandro – I went to your talk at Contact in the Desert and afterwards shook your hand to say thanks for your healthy and balanced approach of “open-minded skepticism” in looking for real evidence and not latching on to every crazy story without looking carefully at it before reporting on it (like many of your less scrupulous colleagues do). I’m a long time listener and supporter of Open Minds – but this Google Street View Tulum story by Roger unfortunately does not hold to your usual standards guys. Again – still love the show and especially the interview with Rob Mercer! Thanks!
The Google street view is not the only sighting in the story. When I referred to the bug, I was referring to the google street view and your comments. Everyone can see your comments who come to the story, so I felt that was enough. I agree you did a great job looking at the video closer.
Thanks for responding, Alejandro. Fair enough ! But let me ask you – do you agree it’s most probably a bug on the lens? Have you gone to the street view yourself to look are what I’m talking about? It’s quite easy to find if you follow the video – but the video compression doesn’t show the legs as clearly as the google images on the site. Also, whoever made that video was very selective not to show the images of the bug that were fully backlit by the sun (that clearly shows its a bug). Also, to your point that leaving my comments up here are “enough” – As you know very few people read the comments that follow a video or a story (who can blame them? – a lot is just nonsense and trolling lol!) . So if what you are saying is, your intention by posting unexplained phenomenon is to illicit feedback from your audience that might help to vet the legitimacy of a story, at what point do you consider a story debunked and share that new knowledge with your audience? After all they are looking to you for your informed and considered perspective – not me. Again thank you for your response and great work!
Thanks Alejamdro – and to clarify – I’m not saying that the video that the tourist did at Tulum is not potentially legit – in fact it’s very intriguing! I’m only taking issue with the Google street view Tulum claims that there’s a UFO shown there. It’s a nefarious connection in the video that needs to be explained better to your audience. Thanks!
Btw – I have been to Tulum and the ruins twice. The weirdest thing about that ancient palace is that the ceilings and doorways can’t be more than 4 or 5 feet tall. Now I know the Mayan people were very short (probably sub 5 feet) but it seems like if you were wealthy enough to build your own grand palace, wouldn’t you give yourself lots of head room? When you look at it you think – for this to feel like a palace, whoever lived here ,use have been like 2 feet tall! Makes you wonder if it was built for humans at all…?
@JT, I agree with your findings. You have outlined them well here. I think that is enough. I am too busy to revisit every story, and I would just be repeating what you have already done.
Alejandro – Ok! – I totally understand – you must be overwhelmed – I would like to help more with vetting your photographic or video evidence. Having worked in and around cameras, lenses, lighting and now VFX professionally for over 25 years, I think I could be a resource for you (and access many more professional opinions in my industry). I gave you a card at Contact in the Desert. It’s James T and my company has the gold space helmet logo. I’m not sure how to reach you otherwise – so drop me a line if you are interested. Cheers!
Love the website, Im an investigator and study certain tube channels very carefully. Ufovni channel Ive found to be an elaborate hoaxer who creates his orn illusions of videos without CGI also he finds bugs the have collided with google streetview cameras stuck to the camera casing and claims ufos. I will do my upmost best to help Open Minds and help further its findings by providing real witness videos. UFODI was created to get public attention to vast witness videos. My video archive has links to the original witnesses uploads so please openminds use my links to help their recognition for capturing real unexplained videos.. you get the real ones out. Ufovni is the claimer owner of every video which is unreal.
I’m not sure where to post this so just dropping it here since I don’t know what else to do. Last week on December between 1am and 3am on Dec 29th in the sky above Tulum, I saw several abnormal lights streaking in the sky. From each direction in the sky and several “cigar” shaped lights in formation that appeared to be translucent rather than a ship or anything solid. I can’t find anything similar online depicting the things I saw, however they were definitely extraterrestrial and defied basic physics.
I’m not a UFO person do not sure what to do other than just report it here in the hopes that someone else can corroborate my account of the nights sky that evening.
