I recently bought, read, and thoroughly enjoyed Monsterland. I wanted to say that I saw an orange orb in Georgia, in 2009. I was on my way to work, around 9:30PM, and took a less-used shortcut from the main road to the parking lot. As I crested the hill, next to a fueling station for utility vehicles, I saw what looked like a Christmas snow-globe, but filled with fire instead of glitter. I pulled off the road and sat in my car for about 5 minutes, just looking at it. It didn’t move at all, there was no noise (my windows were down), and I felt no unusual sensations. I was simply fascinated and wondered what it could be. When a big boom truck came up the hill behind me, I put the car in gear and went on to work, but could still see the orb in my rearview until I turned into the parking lot. I only told my immediate family about this, for fear of ridicule.
