Bob Lazar not impressed with Area 51 declassification

Bob Lazar’s claims that he worked on back-engineered extraterrestrial spacecraft near Area 51 catapulted the secretive base into the legendary status it now holds. Lazar first made these claims in an interview with KLAS investigative reporter George Knapp in 1989, and now nearly 25 years later, the CIA has declassified the existence of what has become arguable the most famous U.S. Air Force base of all.

In an interview with NBC News about the declassification of the existence of Area 51, Lazar told staff writer Tracy Connor, “Tell us something we don’t know.”

Lazar says, “Everybody has known that for 25 years or so.”

He says the actual back-engineering of alien technology went on at a secret location just south of Area 51 called S4. He says he would be driven there from Area 51 on a bus.

Regarding the recent declassification Lazar says, “That’s a minuscule baby step forward.” Lazar continued, “Maybe a decade from now they’ll acknowledge there’s an S4.”

Lazar claims his work at Area 51/S4 ended when he told some friends where they could watch test flights of the advanced extraterrestrial technology he was working on. They would go there at the designated times, often at 3 am, and film strange lights. One night the military was waiting for them and confiscated their filming equipment. Lazar was then questioned and booted from working at the facility. No records of his employment or education exits, because he claims the government erased them.

Critics of Lazar’s claims argue that educational records, such as his alleged degrees at MIT and California’s Institute of Technology, could not be erased and somebody, at least a past professor, would remember him. However, no evidence, not even someone vouching to have gone to class or to have taught Lazar at these universities has come forth.

Adding to the mystery is the fact that Lazar currently runs a scientific equipment and supply store called United Nuclear. In a recent email to Open Minds, a United Nuclear employee said Lazar’s “companies are involved in several Military contracts and he is a science and technology consultant to Raytheon weapon systems.”

The email also says Lazar stays away from the UFO community in order to avoid “rocking the boat.” The NBC News story confirms that Lazar “wants nothing to do with UFO enthusiasts.”

So even with the declassification of Area 51, the questions remain. Was Lazar telling the truth, and if so will we ever know? Hopefully future declassifications will shed light on more of these dark black projects.

  1. In a recent email to Open Minds, a United Nuclear employee said Lazar’s “companies are involved in several Military contracts and he is a science and technology consultant to Raytheon weapon systems.”

More nonsense from Lazar. Presumably, Lazar had to obtain a security clearance to work on the “ufo”. Then he “went public”. If all true, that would have caused his clearance to be revoked. He would not have been able to work on Raytheon weapon systems which certainly requires the clearance. So either he lied about area51 or he’s lying now about contracting with Raytheon. Come on Bob, do some BASIC HOMEWORK about how the government works in regards to classified stuff, before putting out stories. How pathetic you are. Fyi, I am a software engineer with security clearance so I know the requirements.

  2. It never ceases to amaze me how people just believe everything the government/military comments on, especially regarding advanced technology and weapons systems. I’m not saying Lazar is legit (I’m not saying he’s not, either. . .) but one must admit that causing paperwork ‘go away’ in an attempt to discredit someone is certainly within the federal realm of possibilities.

Lazar could certainly be a celebrity of sorts, if that’s what he desired, but it doesn’t seem to be. I can’t help but think a fraud seeking attention would desire exactly that, attention. Lazar shy’s away from that. Why?

  3. Considering I served in the military, I know how security classification works. Especially since I was looking to cross rate from an electrician’s mate to intelligence specialist, going from a Confidential Clearance to a Top Secret with SCSI privilege…. I know how misleading and misdirecting the gov’t can be, and of course there are some things the general public really doesn’t need to know. My biggest concern is with the fact I have had seen craft as a child that did things conventional or even our supposed best cannot do… I am also aware that, with a key stroke, credentials CAN be gone… I had a master’s and bachelor’s in electrical engineering technology, and did my thesis on nano-technology… well the school is now deemed a paper mill and all that I had done is gone… So it proves people can disappear electronically. As far as Mr. Lazar goes, he is a genius – I have watched his videos on converting petrol powered vehicles to water/hydrogen powered vehicles…. Geniuses can do a lot, including make up stuff. However, people are easy to dissuade and convince otherwise. Between the gov’t and Church, it’s pretty much a guarantee to be able to fool people… I keep an open mind; but remember ladies and germs, the gov’t denied even in the face of us knowing, then come out with it. When you can deny and lie in light of the evidence, then realized you had made a complete @$$ out of yourself then try to come out and say “Wait, it DOES exist”… really? You’re going to still confide in that? I’d take my chances with believing a psychotic genius any day over a gov’t that would just as well slit the throat of someone that lets out anything that could undo nebulous cloud over its citizens.

  4. Bob didn’t lie then nor he’s lying now.
C’mon guys Area 51 exists now who said that first? It was Bob right?
S4 exists as well.. Just too well protected. Some day that too would come out in open.
