A hobby photographer has filmed a UFO over Empire Bay near Sydney, Australia. He says the object was large, spherical and luminous, and one of many unexplained sightings he has had in the area over the years.

Drew Ryan says he took several pictures and filmed the object on July 2, which is coincidentally celebrated by some as World UFO Day. Drew told Australian newspaper, The Telegraph, “The ball changed colour several times until it went orange, and then it moved slowly across the sky to hover over Woy Woy for some time.’’

Ryan says this is the fifth time he has seen this object, and has spoken to others whom have seen it as well. He says, I drove to Staples lookout to try to get a better view and some people there told me it had appeared pear-shaped to them.”

He says he has been interested in UFOs for some time, and has looked at many photos, some of which can be explained. When it comes to evaluating UFO photos, Ryan says, “You have to consider the camera equipment and software used to decide on authenticity of footage.”

Ryan has posted a video of his sighting, and a second “revised and enhanced” version, which he believes “reveals pulsating beam emission from top of object.”

Ryan says UFO sightings are on the rise and he would like to see more professional investigation of the phenomenon. He says:

…there is no doubt in my mind there are things flying in the skies which cannot be explained. And sightings are definitely growing in frequency I would like to see a real investigation of these phenomena take place. As an ex-military man I have never seen anything like them.
