UFO disclosure comes to NBC in new series

The intentionally vague previews for NBC’s new drama series The Event have left potential viewers confused as to the plot of the show, but the marketing campaign has provided enough information to hint at government conspiracy and tension within the White House – a somewhat common theme on television lately.

The Event will venture beyond the plots of other contemporary conspiracy/government drama series (e.g. 24). Rather than dealing with terrorists and nuclear weapons, The Event will present a U.S. president acknowledging the existence of extraterrestrials, and the uncertain aftermath resulting from this earth-shattering announcement – a theme similar to that of a new book being written by UFO historian Richard Dolan.

The Event premieres tonight on NBC.
